Digital xray showing the upper right first molar. Deep carious lesion can be seen that extends down to the pulp. Patient refers spontaneous pain and pain during mastication or even upon touching the tooth. These symptoms are compatible with irreversible pulpitis which can only be treated with an endodontic treatment (root canal treatment)

The blue arrow indicates the complete obturation of all the root canals and the red arrow indicates the composite restoration of the previously decayed part of the tooth (composite filling). Patient reports no more pain and mastication has been fully restored.
