Microabrasion

The microabrasion technique is utilized in order to reduce or eliminate intrinsic tooth discolorations (within the tooth structure). A microabrasive paste is applied on the area of discoloration and a rotating brush is used for short intervals of 10 seconds in order to slowly remove the stained area layer by layer.

Following that a fluoride gel is applied to promote re-mineralization of the abraded enamel. The microabrasion technique is a fast, painless and conservative procedure, since it is completed in one session, without the need for anesthetic and by removing only 0.1mm of enamel.
